About
Alex Crick is a dedicated and experienced music teacher based in the South End of Halifax, Nova Scotia. With over six years of teaching experience in schools and private settings across the UK, China, and Canada, Alex brings a unique international perspective to his lessons. He loves meeting and making music with people from all walks of life. Certified in educational frameworks like the International Baccalaureate, Suzuki Method, and Modern Band Method, Alex tailors his teaching to meet the individual needs and interests of each student.
Alex believes that true fluency in the language of music goes beyond simply learning to perform pieces (although this is an important foundation)—it’s about fostering creativity and self-expression through creating music. Just as you wouldn’t learn a language by only reciting pre-written texts, Alex’s teaching emphasizes the importance of exploring repertoire, technique, and personal creativity in equal measure.
